It's Fun...it's Funky...it's Poly Deco Mesh!! A great way to celebrate LOVE and add a festive touch to the front door or inside the home. I made this Poly Deco Mesh wreath in honor of Valentine's Day. The mesh was hot pink with foil and it was wrapped on a red wire base. I added shinny hot pink & red wired ribbon, large glittery hearts made from Styrofoam, red glittered leaves, and red glittered branches. Definitely won of my fav's!

Look for more Poly Deco Mesh Valentine's wreaths on my website soon. I have one I will be adding with red & white stripes next week.

Hot Pink Passion Silk Rose Peony Wreath just SOLD!

The color in this hot pink silk floral wreath was rich and vibrant. This was perfect as a Valentine’s Day door wreath but could easily have been displayed through spring and summer. This was purchased as a "get well" gift and I included a hand written card in the wreath box with a message from her coworkers. I too am wishing her a speedy recovery!

The flowers in this silk wreath consisted of Peonies, Roses, Hydrangea and Dahlias; all in hot pink. I’ve additional grapevine which gave the wreath more texture and a more natural look.

If you would like to send one of my wreaths as a gift, just give me a call or contact me and I will be happy to include a hand written card.

We Have Snow in Columbia, SC

We are all so excited that it snowed here in Columbia, SC. Though its putting me behind with my wreath business, it is rare and the kids are having a blast. It came in over night on Monday so the kids woke to a winter wonderland and off the charts excited. I have to admit most adults here get just as excited as the kids since it is a rare occurrence. The kids did not have to go to school Monday or Tuesday. I did get all my shipments out for Monday, however, they may be delayed due to the weather.

Here are some photos of the kids enjoying the snow.

One good thing about living in the south is that snow does not stick around for more than a day or two. So the snow is slowly melting and I'm slowly getting through all the laundry and house cleaning.

Holiday Retail Sales Exceed Expectations!

I think you will be happy to know that preliminary retail sales data is reporting that shoppers spent more this holiday season than they did even before the recession began! Can this be the light at the end of the tunnel? The sign we have all been waiting on?

Retail spending rose 5.5% in the 50 days before Christmas 2010, compared to the same period in 2009, exceeding even the most optimistic forecasts and making this pre-Christmas sales increase the greatest in five years, according to MasterCard SpendingPulse™, a unit of MasterCard Advisors. That’s after a 6% drop in 2008 and a 4% uptick last year. Spending reached about $584.3 Billion this season.

The following are among the theories analysts offered for the rebound in spending while the unemployment rate remained high.

*Stocks have risen to their highest levels in two years, giving those with higher incomes greater freedom to spend.
*Consumers have expressed rising confidence for the last five months, according to government surveys.
*The luxury segment started heating up last summer, which had a trickle-down effect from upper-tier consumers to mid-tier consumers.

Several retailers will report December sales in January. A blizzard on the East Coast may have kept shoppers away on December 26, when retailers typically see increased store traffic for exchanges, returns and gift card use, but analysts say the stores would not lose those sales — they would just be pushed later into December or January.

Frosty Beginnings Silk Floral Wreath Just SOLD

Waking on frosty mornings to begin my day gave me the inspiration for this wreath.  This silk floral wreath will easily take the owner throughout the winter months.

This premium silk floral wreath had evergreen of Pine and Juniper.  The white Hydrangea reminded me of snowballs!  There were flocked Pine Cones and evergreen and silver glittered Smilax leaves.  Even the double ribbon wired bow reminded me of the frosty air.  One ribbon was snow white and the other was a light sage green trimmed in silver thread matching the silvery Smilax leaves.

Festive Fun Silk Floral Christmas Wreath SOLD

This was festive silk floral wreath consisting of the traditional deep red and deep green Christmas colors.  The silk flowers were red poinsettias.  The punch of color around the outside of the wreath was poly deco mesh, a vinyl material that holds it's shape well and is great for outdoor use.  The ribbon is full and is made of a stiff bow.
