The Deco Mesh wreaths are very visual and striking. Is this a southern tradition or a new craft? I've never heard of these types of wreaths. They are really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHey Ellen! Thanks for your question and compliments on my wreaths. Deco Mesh is not necessarily new. Deco Poly Mesh has been around a few years now but has mainly remained in the floral industry until about 4 or 5 years ago. Deco Mesh really became popular and hitting the mainstream when manufacturers started producing vibrant colors and fabulous patterns (stripes, plaids, etc.). The manufacturers also devised easy to use wreath and garland forms to hold the deco mesh. Since it is so easy to use, crafters have found it and ran with it making all kinds of decorations. The sky is the limit with deco mesh. You can easily dress it up or down. Hobby Lobby & AC Moore stores started selling the mesh about 2 years ago and Michael's just started this year wit the bright colors. However, the mesh in the craft stores are not the best quality making it a little more difficult to use and are extremely over priced unless you use a coupon.
